Today we started our morning early and went up to the ‘Big White Buddha’ that overlooks Pai. Since it was so early no one else was there and it was a peaceful lookout up a bunch of stairs.

After that we went back and packed our stuff from the hotel where we stayed this past week. We checked out at 11am and went to meet our friend Tiara for lunch before leaving on the bus back to Chiang Mai. We went to a good restaurant that was very cheap and came recommended. I tried a Burmese salad that was very good.

We had a little time to kill before our bus, so we went to a spot for Chai tea that was also recommended. It was a very cute café and we sat on couches and just hung out drinking tea. Tiara got a brownie to share. I felt so grateful that my life has been filled with such pleasant days. As I looked at our cups of tea and brownie in cozy café with good company I thought “how lucky am I”!

When it was time for our bus we turned our motorbikes in and got on the shuttle. A few hours later we were back in Chiang Mai where the three of us checked into the same hostel. It was Sunday so the big Sunday market was going on tonight that we had visited one week ago when we were previously in Chiang Mai. The three of us set out for food and market time until Brendan and I had enough market. It gets increasingly busy as the night goes on. Tiara, growing up in Singapore is used to the city and crowds so she walked longer than we did that night. Brendan and I went back to the hotel and got some rest as we have an early day tomorrow.
