Today it has stopped raining and I was excited to walk around and explore the rest of Girona. I kind of got lost in the old cobblestone streets and stumbled upon several amazing churches and the well- preserved Jewish Quarter they have here in the city. With some help from locals as my navigation couldn’t quite locate it, I was able to get to the old medieval walls of the city. These walls are really cool because you can walk on the top of them all the way through the old part of the city as well as to the new part of the city. There were several lookout towers that provided great city views.

I went through some parks and stopped in and out of some cute clothing stores.

During our whole trip, I really haven’t been able to do any shopping since I have no space to carry anything. It was fun to look though, and I ended up with a new pair of shoes that kept my feet dry as the only ones I had at this point were my worn-out tennis shoes with holes in them.

The next town I wanted to stay in was a coastal town called Tossa de Mar. However, to my surprise I couldn’t find any place to stay online. The only options were just a couple insanely expensive hotels. So, I decided to go back to Barcelona as there were many more hostel options to do day trips from there. I checked out of the hostel in Girona and caught a late afternoon train to Barcelona. From the train station I took a subway to the stop closest to the hostel and got checked into my new place. This hostel was fun and I immediately made friends with my dorm mates. I got a few offers to join in on some evening activities but I declined saying “maybe tomorrow” and had a relaxed night.
