Today we got to sleep in until 7am, and after breakfast were taken by shuttle to a ziplining place. Brendan and I have done this a few times before in different places, but I have to say I am super happy we opted for this activity in this location as this was the best ziplining we have done.

The lines were super long and REALLY high over beautiful valleys and rivers. We also got to do the lines in all different positions. The scariest was going upside down with your arms out. My favorite way was flying on my stomach like Super Man. This was a long, fast zip line and you actually use your arms to fly and control the direction you stay in so you don’t start spinning out of control. It was really fun! We also got to climb a rock wall and Brendan (with his new strength) opted for the ‘difficult route’ and did a great job. There was also a very high suspension bridge that I wasn’t nervous about until I got in the middle of it.

It was all really fun and another great addition to the activity in our trek. From there we were taken to our lunch spot. Our hike to the last camp was about 4 hours.

We were actually hiking the last part to a hotel in Aguas Calientes that was our accommodation for the last night. This was a cute little town right at the base of Machu Picchu. The hike to Aguas Calientes was the only time we got rained on. We made use of the ponchos my friend Diggs left for us in Panama and felt fortunate that we had such good weather during the other parts of the trek. At least, we were not cold nor camping while wet for the night. Once we made it to the hotel, Brendan and I actually had a private room and got a hot shower. We walked around the little town before we had our last group dinner at a restaurant. After dinner we went to bed early. Tomorrow, we have an early start and a long day ahead of us.
