On this trek we have someone who wakes us up and hands us a cup of hot tea where we are sleeping. It feels quite luxurious. We had another early start, but this day of hiking was WAY easier and shorter than the previous two days. We were no longer in the higher altitude and the hiking was much more relaxed. My feet were still tired from the previous days, but it wasn’t bad at all. We hiked and our guide Nico pointed out different plants and things along the way.

When we made it to our next base camp, we still had most of the day left so we opted to participate in an optional excursion to some hot springs.

This was lovely and felt very nice after a few days of trekking. There were several pools and each was a different temperature. We mostly just stayed in the hottest pool until we were shriveled. They also had a bar and we had drinks with our friends from our group and other groups. Everyone seemed very relaxed and happy for such a treat at the end of the day.

We got back to camp and had dinner. This turned out to be the ‘party’ night of the trek. We didn’t have to wake up until 7am the next day which was sleeping in compared to the other days. Everyone was feeling good and ready to socialize after an easy day of hiking and hot springs. The camp had a really good setup. After dinner there was a bonfire and they had a dirt bottom dance floor with music, lights and a bar. This turned out to be a ton of fun. Brendan sat around the fire talking to new friends and I danced to an awesome variety of music. They played a lot of Latin dance music which we have come to know and love during the few months we have been traveling. Many people were giving requests and we heard some of the Israeli favorites which was really cool. I danced until I was tired and went to bed excited for the next day that included a zip line adventure in the morning before we started hiking.
