March 29-30th, 2019
This morning it was raining, and we had to pack up a wet camp. We shook the tent and everything else out as much as we could before loading everything up and making the drive back to San Jose. We spent the morning on the road until we got back to the city and returned the rental car. We got a shuttle to the airport where we had a few hours to kill waiting for our flight. We found a little corner and sat with all our stuff and tried to eat and drink all the food we had before going through security.

Getting all the way down to Patagonia takes a while, at least the way we did it finding the best deals on flights. Our first leg was San Jose, Costa Rica to Lima, Peru. We had a few hours layover in Peru where we grabbed some dinner. Our flight left Peru at 2am to go to Santiago, Chile where we landed at 7:35am local time. We were all tired after 2 nights of tent camping (where we didn’t sleep very well) and then flew through the night. We all took a nap in the airport on arrival to Santiago. Brendan and Taylor slept for quite awhile and I worked on this blog while we waited for our next flight. From Santiago we left late afternoon on our flight to Punta Arenas which will be our starting point for Patagonia. Arranging hikes and camping ahead of time for Patagonia online was very difficult. There are multiple companies that you have to work with to arrange one trek. Since we want to explore on our own and not pay for expensive guide services, it has made the booking process difficult. We are basically traveling down there without any plan, hoping we can figure it out once we are there.
One cool thing happened today… We were on the plane to Punta Arenas which was delayed so we were not landing until pretty late at night. I looked at Taylor and said I could really go for a caesar salad and a glass of wine for dinner. She said ‘I hope that happens for you!’ We both kind of laughed knowing that is a tall order since we are landing so late in a town where we don’t know what the amenities are like. So far on this trip there have been few salads… We reserved one night in a hostel in Punta Arenas. We got there and set out to find some dinner. We found the most amazing place that was so cute and cozy. At 11pm at night I actually got my caesar salad and glass of wine! Believe it and receive it! We are looking forward to what tomorrow brings 🙂

What is added to the Caesar? Not familiar with that. Hope you are rested and Taylor’s ankle is okay. Take good care, medical maybe so so, O forgot you can do lots of stuff. Love you lots, Nanny.
This is so neat! Is it going to let me comment this time? Love y’all, I’m so inspired/happy for you!
Thank you! Love you too!
