Today was a very chill day. Even though this is their dry season it was very stormy this morning with heavy rain. We watched the storm from the front porch while we had coffee in the morning.

We pretty much just hung out in the shit-lay (chalet) until the storm passed. We had a great view and I loved being right on the beach, although the room was pretty crappy.

We decided not to scuba dive today because the storm made the water murky and it was not very good visibility. The day before I was also concerned about my foot and left lower leg getting infected. The flippers I wore diving rubbed a spot on my foot raw and I also had a couple bites I had scratched too much. The bugs here are so brutal they just won’t leave you alone and swarm to any little injury. Fortunately, I brought the first aid kit in our little backpack and had been treating the wounds with antibiotic ointment and bandaging them to try and keep the bugs, sand and dirt out but over the night the infection came on. This morning I knew I had cellulitis. With it being pretty uncomfortable to walk or put pressure on my left foot after the storm passed, we drove up and down the little road on this side of the island a couple of times and then hung out on the beach.

For lunch we tried another local recommendation and it was also good. This side of the island has much better food.

We basically didn’t do much as I was pretty limited with my foot. Brendan went swimming and I laid on the beach. I was nervous to sleep in that room again with how bad the mosquitos were the night before but THANKFULLY they were not bad on this night.
