We woke up early and started our tour with Josh and Kyra to Semuc Champey. Just getting there felt like an adventure as they put us all in the back of a truck where we stood holding onto bars and went on an extremely bumpy 45 minute ride into the jungle. It was beautiful scenery and a fun challenge trying to hold onto the grab bars.

Once we got there, the first activity was going through a cave with just candle light.

It was another cave where we had to swim, climb and crawl all through it. It was a challenge to try to swim and keep your candle above water. It was a little scary, but really fun. There was a place towards the end where you can climb up in the cave and jump into a deep pool. I got slightly scared when I got up there but without there being another option down, I had to jump.

After coming out of the cave we did a small hike and stopped at a huge rope swing which Brendan, Kyra, and Josh were brave enough to do.

Then we went to a swimming spot where you could climb up a waterfall and jump off. From there we did a strenuous hike up to a view point where you could see all the beautiful cascading pools of Semuc Champey.

After the hike down, we went to the pools and had time to swim and play. It was a full day before we got back to Laquin but very fun and beautiful.

We got back to town and returned to the one restaurant (the pizza place) for dinner. Being tired, we turned in early to get ready for another travel day heading to Antigua tomorrow.
