Excited for a rest day in a beautiful place today we just hung out.
Our friend Josh that we have been traveling with from San Ignacio, Belize was in a hostel across the way from us. After a leisurely morning the three of us with Kyra went over to his hostel to check out his pool and accommodations.
Then we walked to town to the only restaurant we saw open which was a pizza place. We got some pizza and explored town and their small markets.
We also set up our tour for the following day to Semuc Champey. We took our leftover pizza and went back to our hostel pool where we swam and hung out. After sitting the pizza down for no longer than 5 minutes we realized it was infested with ants.
We spent the rest of the day resting and relaxing and hanging out with our new friends. Josh had said a guy in his hostel got bit by a scorpion while in his bed the night before. As I crawled in bed with my mosquito net and all my bug repellent stuff I couldn’t help but be nervous about all the things that could be crawling around. This trip is definitely making me face my bug phobia. Each day that I wake up “o.k.” I think I get a little tougher about it.
