Happy Veterans Day to those back at home.
“The secret of happiness is freedom, and the secret to freedom, courage” – Thucydides (Beautiful quote that I believe rings true in many aspects of life).
Today is our fourth and final day of diving in Sharm El Sheikh and it was absolutely amazing. We spent all day out on another big beautiful boat and went to two different dive sites in Ras Muhammed National Park. I can now say that today was my favorite day of diving, even topping The Great Barrier Reef for me. It was more amazing walls and gardens of coral and the most beautiful fish. I would see one fish and think “that’s my favorite” but then another one would swim by and become my new favorite. Their colors were just so vibrant. Then to top it off, on our second dive we saw the biggest shark we have ever seen. It was a gray reef shark and not super close but close enough to tell it was the biggest we have seen (maybe 5-6 feet in length). The Red Sea does have really big fish in it (like whale sharks) but usually they are only spotted in the summertime. We have heard the summertime is the most spectacular for diving in the Red Sea. However, Egypt is too hot to visit in the summer if you want to do anything else other than be in the water. We felt pretty lucky we saw that shark. It was a great day and we enjoyed our last night in the nice resort.
