November 5th, 2019
Today we woke up early before sunrise so that we could watch it over the White Desert. It was very pretty and afterwards our guide made us breakfast.
We then spent time walking around and viewing all the cool formations. Once camp was packed up we went to Crystal Mountain. It was really cool and you could pick up the crystals from anywhere on the ground.
That afternoon we went back to the hotel camp where we started and had lunch. We said goodbye to our new friends as they headed back to Cairo, and we had tonight in the hotel and one more tour around this Bahariya Oasis.
We had a new Bedouin guide and he took us around. We went to a big Salt Lake and “Pyramid Mountain”.
He drove us around the sand in the jeep and that was pretty fun. We saw the town and went to a local market. He then took us to a lookout to watch the sunset. Brendan and I hiked to an old British fort that is now just mostly a pile of rocks. There were nice views of the desert and oasis and our guide set out a blanket and made a fire for Bedouin tea for sunset. We went back for dinner and had a very quiet evening at the hotel.
