After another great breakfast, we got ready for a day trip to Jaco beach. The beach was about 2 hours away and we got to see some more of Costa Rica from the car. Jaco beach was a cute little town with many shops and restaurants. We walked around the town a bit before picking a spot on the beach to lay down.

It was VERY hot and humid here. Laying on the beach was sweltering. The crazy part was that even the water was hot! This was the warmest I have ever felt the Pacific Ocean. There was actually zero cooling effect from getting in the water. Not being able to stand the heat, we didn’t stay on the beach very long before finding a restaurant with shade and cold drinks. After cooling down a bit we walked around town a little more before stopping at a place that advertised the best burger in Costa Rica.

This was too big of a draw to pass up and even I ordered a burger (a big moment for me as I haven’t really eaten meat in the past 10 years before this trip)! Not a fan of ground beef my whole life, I was surprised that it actually was a really good burger.

After that, we headed back towards San Jose but stopped at another beach to watch sunset. It was perfect timing and we stumbled upon a really beautiful beach right as the sun was going down. Taylor and Brendan got to swim in the ocean soaking up the last of the sun’s rays for the day.

We got back to the hotel and enjoyed our last night in our comfortable, non-bug-ridden beds.
