We got an invitation from some people we met on the plane to Belize City who are builders and own an Inn on Maya Beach. They did not have any rooms available but offered to let us set up camp on their property. We packed up camp in Placencia and took the bus to Maya Beach which was just north about 30 minutes. The owners of the home Michelle and Steve were very welcoming and accommodating. We had access to a bathroom and nice shower which was great.
We got settled in and walked to the little market to pick up snacks/dinner. We sat on their lovely deck with hammocks and ate chips and crackers and cheese.
