There is so much to do and see in Peru, it is hard to decide what you can fit in. I was torn today whether we should do a 4am wake-up, and go on a day trip to the desert, or go to another really nice area of Lima to be on the coast and see the dramatic cliffs Lima is built on. We opted to sleep in and take an Uber to Miraflores where we spent the day walking and exploring. It was a really nice part of town and we walked along the high cliff pathway as well as going down to the beach.

Brendan treated me to paragliding! It was the first time I have ever done that, and it was super cool being able to run off the high cliffs and let the wind take you. It was so peaceful and definitely felt like an amazing flying dream. You cannot see anything in front of you or holding you. The guide is on your back behind you and takes care of everything. You are just soaring in the air with unobstructed views, and it is very quiet from not having anything motorized. It was really an awesome experience and I got to see how big Lima is.

After paragliding, we explored Lima’s Bohemian neighborhood of Barranco. We had an excellent Pisco Sour at a place that came recommended, followed by a nice dinner in a really cute spot.

We then took an Uber back to our hostel. I was so tired I fell asleep on the ride back.

I’m blown away that you did paragliding!!! I can’t imagine jumping off a cliff and flying! What a thrill!! Only in my dreams would I feel safe enough… Still hoping to one day try parasailing
Ya you have to do parasailing! You will love it! I felt super comfortable b/c I was lucky enough to have the owner of the business as the one who flew with me! He has done it for 38 years and was the one who brought paragliding to Lima! He loves it so much he competes in national and international paragliding competitions. He was Peru’s national champion for many years until this year when his 15 year old son beat him for the title! Super interesting and inspiring guy.
Wow, what a great backstory on the paragliding guy!
