Happy Easter! We celebrated it by sleeping in! We had a leisurely morning and took our time getting ready for the day. We switched to a different apartment down the road today because the WiFi wasn’t very good at the one we were in. We got to our new apartment and it was really nice! I was so surprised we could get such a nice apartment in a good area of downtown for only $36 a night. We hiked up to the top of Santa Lucia hill today and got some nice city views.
We also went to the main city plaza where they had Easter festivities going on and walked into a huge cathedral.
Then we went back to the city markets and had some lunch and got some fresh strawberries. We tried a local dish that was crab and cheese, white wine, and milk baked in a clay pot called Chupe de Jaiva.
It was good but I couldn’t imagine one person eating this as their meal. It was more like a super-rich crab dip that you would share as an appetizer. We went back to the apartment for a bit before we headed back out to explore the city at night and get more street food.
