I had so much fun in Tossa de Mar yesterday that today I decided to do another day trip to the coastal town of Stiges. This was a bit closer to Barcelona and only about 30 minutes south. I took another bus and did another big day of walking while exploring Stiges. This was nowhere near as picturesque as Tossa de Mar but still a nice place to walk around. There were tons of cafes and shops all along the beaches and a nice church at the end of the main strip. I walked through the more historical part of town that had white buildings and blue trim. This is home to the original Bicardi run distillery which I walked by but didn’t do a tour as I wasn’t there at the right time.

When I had my fill of walking and exploring town I caught a bus back to Barcelona. This morning I had made plans with my dorm mate to do a tapas tour of Barcelona. I got back and got ready for a night of tapas and sangria. I walked with my new friend Aaron from Australia to the start of the tour.

This was a great tour and so much fun! We had a really great group from all over the world and went to four different spots for tapas and drinks. We learned the history of tapas and a lot about Spanish culture and cuisine. At one stop we learned how to drink sangria out of a traditional Spanish craft which is quite challenging to drink without spilling, until you get the hang of it.

Our tour guide was awesome and made it a lot of fun. In the end we were all having so much fun we did not want the tour to end. A big group of us including the tour guide decided to keep the party going and head to a local salsa dance club. This place was packed and had a live band. I loved the music and the band even though it was so crowded there really wasn’t much room to dance. I made several new friends and we created a group chat to exchange all the pictures and stay in touch during the rest of our time in Spain.
