Scuba diving in the Red Sea is what drew me to come to Egypt in the first place. It is rated by many as some of the best diving in the world. During our time here we got to visit two of the top 10 dive sites in the entire world. After a good restful night we went down for the buffet breakfast which was awesome. Most of the places we stay that include breakfast, means a piece of white bread with jam or cornflakes. This was the ‘real deal’ with meats and cheeses, fresh fruit and omelets, French toast, pancakes, potatoes etc. They had an amazing fresh baked bread that was very delicious. They also had sliced cucumbers with a really good feta cheese that they have in Egypt. Out of everything to choose from every morning, I would go back to get more bread and butter and cucumbers.
After breakfast we went to the dive shop, met our guide and got situated with all our gear. Today we were doing two shore dives. As soon as we got in the water I was blown away with how clear it was (check back as I will be adding pictures from our underwater camera). The Red Sea is known for having amazing visibility, and it lived up to its reputation. It was by far the clearest water we have dived in. We had a very nice couple of dives and talked in between with some ex pats who are now living in Dubai. After our dives, we went to Camels’ private beach area which was really nice with lounge chairs on the sand and couches with tables on the dock. What was great about it was that no one hassled us to buy anything including something to drink or eat. If we wanted something, we could wave someone over. Otherwise, we were left alone to enjoy the beach and scenery. We hung out until sunset and had left-over pizza for dinner.
