Shanti & Brendan
about Shanti:
I’m Shanti and am 32 years old. I’ve loved to travel since I was a little girl. Some of my first memories are eagerly awaiting a trip to Hawaii with my grandparents that I could go on once I turned 6. Ever since that wonderful trip, I’ve been excited to explore the world and meet the people who make it up. I’ve worked for the last 6 years as a RN and recently graduated with my Nurse Practitioner license. I couldn’t have done this without the love and tremendous support from my family. With this transition in my career I felt this was a good opportunity to take some time to travel, hopefully learn Spanish, and to somehow make a positive impact on other people and communities. Things in our lives started falling in place to make this dream a reality. We decided to seize the opportunity, pack up our things and start exploring the world. I hope on this trip to learn and experience a lot to come back with new perspective and insight. Although a bit scary to leave our jobs, our home and our families, I feel this adventure is something big and worthwhile! Please feel free to follow our travel blog and ask any questions.
about Brendan:
I’m Brendan and I’m 34 years old. I traveled a little in my teens and twentys but it was primarily revolving sprint car racing. I was fortunate enough to race cars for 20 years and the memories made were countless. I went to school to be a Diesel Technician and worked for the past 11 years in the Diesel/Heavy Equipment industry. About a year ago we had the crazy idea to take some time off and travel the world and things just seemed to fall in place. I’m currently enrolled in some online classes and hope to finish my degree and become fluent in Spanish before we come home. We also hope to do some good along the way. When we return, I hope to further my credentials as a pilot and further pursue our party-bus business. It was a huge deal to leave everything we had at home but nobody will ever be on their death beds saying “I sure wish I spent more time at the office”. I hope you all enjoy our pictures and stories.
I have watch and seen pictures of your trips and have enjoyed this extremely. I wished I had the guts to do what you 2 have done. So proud of both you and thank you for sharing this with everyone. I love you both and I will be in Oregon next year for my 50th class reunion. Hope your close in August ❤️
Thank you so much for reading and for your kind words! We are so fortunate to be able to have these adventures and love being able to share them. We will be around for your class reunion so that is great and we look forward to seeing you then!
Oh my gosh, Shanti….I am so amazed at how far you have gone! I am grateful to have met you in this life and on this planet, you bring beauty into my life in so many ways and I am so envious that you will forever have this to look back on and remember everything! Stay safe and know you are appreciated and admired for how amazing you are!
Love,
Robin
