After another hot and muggy night in the 9 person dorm room we decided to book a private room in Flores for another couple nights. We decided we would ‘treat ourselves’ and spend a little extra to get a hotel with a pool. We packed our things and crammed into a tuk tuk to go to our hotel on a different side of town.
With it being so hot and Brendan still under the weather we were dreaming of jumping in the pool as soon as we got there. To our extreme disappointment we checked in only to find the pool was empty and had no water in it. We debated trying to get a refund and going to a different place since this was more expensive and did not have the pool, nor was it a great location for exploring. However, the AC in the room did work well which was a first for our entire trip. With a cold room we decided to stay for one night and rest. We all took naps and B and I went out after the sun went down and it was more bearable to walk and get some street food.
