Today was another nice, relaxed day in Luang Prabang. I spent a lot of the day trying to get my computer fixed which decided it no longer wanted to connect to the internet. I spent a long time on the phone with my Mom troubleshooting and taking it around to different WiFi’s trying to get it to work. After two days of working on this problem, it finally seemed to fix itself and start working. We had a long lunch at our favorite spot here in town and I updated this blog. We then went to do a lot of errands like finding the rest of the food items we wanted for the boat ride, going to the post office, finding a slow boat ticket etc. Besides that, we rested in the room and hung out on the nice balcony overlooking the river. Once the computer started working, I was also able to book our next flights for our journey.
We really like Laos and would like more time to explore other areas. The thing is, all transportation is very slow here. Even if it does not look that far on the map, you can easily spend full days traveling between places. We will have had three months in Asia, and I had a feeling towards the end we would be running out of time for our last stops along the “Banana Pancake Trail” we have roughly been following. We considered staying in Laos and flying from here to Bangkok at the end of the month for our next flight, but that would mean missing Northern Thailand. We don’t want to miss Northern Thai so we will keep on trekking and get on the slow boat tomorrow. You just can’t do it all, but we have loved what we have done and feel extremely fortunate!
