Day 189 – Koh Rong Sanloem, Cambodia

This morning I opened the door to the bungalow at sunrise and saw this!

It was so beautiful I ran down to the beach to watch.

It was one of the most beautiful sunrises I have ever seen!  Luckily Brendan was feeling a little better today, so we went to breakfast and then on our snorkeling tour.  It was a half day activity and pretty fun. The weather was very nice, and I was excited to see other parts of the island.  Our first stop was for snorkeling.  The water was not that clear, and there wasn’t too much to see but I enjoyed just floating around and laying out on the bow of the boat talking with other people on the tour.  Brendan snorkeled and then we went to another spot for fishing.  They gave everyone a little round plastic reel with a hook and bait.  No one on the boat caught anything except for the local Cambodian boat captain who caught 3 fish!  After fishing we went to a really nice deserted beach which was my favorite part.

 

I laid on this sand bar where the water was gently rolling against me from either side.  I think it was the most perfect place to lay.  Others played football or frisbee and everyone just had a great time hanging out.  Meanwhile the boat hands were making us a BBQ lunch.  When it was ready we all came back to the boat for lunch before we returned to the Mad Monkey resort.  It was a really nice excursion and I thought a good value as it was only $10 and included lunch and 2 drinks.  After we got back, we rested and hung out on bean bags on the pier.  We had some dinner and played a card game and chatted with some others.  We also played corn hole.  Brendan was feeling better but now my stomach started to hurt so we called it another early night and went back to the bungalow.
