Our nice room even had a swing out front!

It also came with a buffet breakfast that was really great. They had an omelet bar and things like Thai pancakes. Brendan was really excited because they had cereal and milk which he has been wanting. I wanted to stay another night there but couldn’t because there was another resort right down the beach that was a third of the price ($15 instead of $45) that also had a pool. We checked out and walked the 400 meters down the beach to the Diamond Caves Resort. For $15 a night it was really nice. We had a big room; it just didn’t have AC. The pool was really nice though and backed up to the beautiful limestone cliffs.

We checked in early and then headed out to find Ao Phra Nang Beach and Princess Cave. It was just a short walk from Railay Beach East where we were staying, and it was a beautiful beach. The water is really green here and I read maybe its from higher amounts of phytoplankton.

We had fun swimming in the water and just relaxing on the beach. We had some more great Thai food even though my papaya salad set my mouth on fire for like an hour. We also bought tickets and arranged our transportation for tomorrow to go to Kho Phangan which is an island in the Gulf of Thailand. We have been lucky with weather so far, but it is monsoon season here in the Andaman Sea. Although it is still considered wet season in the Gulf of Thai their monsoons are more typically in November so this is a better time to be on the Gulf, according to weather patterns (which we all know can change at any moment).
I am so grateful each and every day for this amazing opportunity we have to see so many different parts of the world. Today my feelings of gratitude were almost overwhelming as I considered what a beautiful gift this is at this time in our lives. It is so very special, and I appreciate everyone who has been supportive and encouraging of our journey. I also realize not everyone can understand this decision to take time off of work to do such a thing, and that is okay too. I just feel happy and thankful to be in this place at this moment.
