Today we took a really nice boat ride from Phuket to Railay Beach, Thailand. By Boat is definitely my favorite mode of transportation. We got a nice fruit smoothie (you can get smoothies everywhere here for less than $2) and sat outside on the boat deck for the 2-hour journey.

We were on the big boat until Ao Nang. Once at Ao Nang we changed to a small long-tail boat to take us to Railay. It was a beautiful ride as we went through all the jutting rock faces coming out of the sea. Railay is known for its high limestone cliffs and climbing areas. I was really in awe of how beautiful it was. I love rocks so to have beautiful beaches surrounded by huge rock formations and cliff faces was really awesome. The long-tail boat takes you right to the shore where you get out and have to get your feet wet to walk the few feet to the edge of the water on the beach. We were dropped off in Railay West and had to walk the short 10-minute path to Railay East which was where our hotel was.

We treated ourselves and redeemed one of our free nights from hotels.com and booked a really nice place. At least for us it was really nice. It was right on the beach and we had a beautiful room with a patio overlooking the pool and the sea. When we checked in they even greeted us with cold towels and welcome drinks. It felt very luxurious. The great part about traveling in low season is we seem to always be able to check in early. It was only about 11am when we arrived, and they had the room ready. After cooling off in the room for a bit we set out to explore.

The path that connects the east and west beach is filled with little shops and restaurants. This is a touristy place too, but in the laid-back island way instead of the sleezy tourist way Phuket was. We are not on an island, but it feels like it because this place is only accessible by boat. We found a spot for lunch and spent the afternoon on the beach and at the resort pool. We went back to the beach for sunset and it was really pretty!

The scenery looks spectacular with the rocks and that’s my favorite looking hotel! cold towels and refreshing drinks, Yes!
That’s looks so relaxing and inviting. That’s really wonderful and delightful that a rainbow always follows after a storm. Though we don’t always think we can survive, we are so assured because of the rainbows in the past.
I agree, rainbows are an amazing sign! I am always happy when I see one.
Looks and sounds wonderful!!!
