Today was a full day of driving so we could make it to the launching point for the Whitsunday islands for our tour tomorrow. We stopped and got a bag salad from a grocery store for lunch and kept driving until we reached Arlie Beach. This was the nicest public park I have ever seen. The beach had incredible pools right on the beach. They were some of the largest pools I have seen and had sand beaches going into the pools with natural rock features etc. They had the same great cooking stoves and BBQs and also bathrooms with showers.
We found a spot to park for free and laid out for a while catching the last of today’s sun. We went to a couple of stores and Brendan found a new air mat. His original mat went flat, and he had to get up in the middle of the night to blow it back up all the nights we had camped. We are excited for our day trip tomorrow and found another free place to park and sleep in the car.
